Plant Nutrient Liquid Water Source Selection

- Jun 09, 2020-

In soilless cultivation and production, tap water and well water are commonly used as sources of water. In some places, rainwater collected from greenhouses or greenhouses can also be used as sources of water. The type of water source to be used depends on local conditions, but must be analysed before use to determine its suitability.

If tap water is used as a source of water, its high price increases the production cost. However, as tap water is treated and meets the drinking water standard, it is more secure in water quality as a source of soilless cultivation and production.

If the well water as a source of water, to take into account the local formation structure, mining out of the well water should also be analyzed and analyzed. If rainwater is collected as a source of water, the collected rainwater should be clarified and filtered by adding precipitants or other disinfectants if necessary, as the precipitation process will bring dust and other substances from the air into the water.

If the local air pollution is serious, rainwater cannot be used as a water source. Generally speaking, if the annual local rainfall exceeds 1000mm or more, rainwater can be collected to fully meet the needs of soilless cultivation and production. In some places, cleaner reservoir or river water is also used as the source of water for soilless cultivation. Take special care not to use water that flows through farmland as a source of water. Before use, it should be treated and analyzed to determine whether it is usable.
